The University of Wyoming’s online master’s degree program in educational leadership was named “Best in the West” for 2021 by Intelligent.com in its ranking of the “Top 50 Master’s in Educational Leadership Degree Programs.”
The top programs are affordable, respected and flexible, the website says.
“We are pleased to see our high-quality program receive the ‘Best in the West’ ranking, and we agree. Our master’s program is a thoughtfully designed blend of academic scholarship and practical application that prepares our candidates for demanding, meaningful work in school administration,” says Barbara Hickman, assistant professor and program coordinator for UW’s Educational Leadership Program.
Intelligent.com evaluated 242 programs from 160 institutions to select the top 50. Each program was evaluated on the basis of flexibility, faculty, course strength, cost and reputation. The website then calculated an “Intelligent Score” for each program on a scale of zero to 100. UW’s College of Education ranked No. 27 in the nation for best colleges to earn a master’s degree in educational leadership. View the ranking here.
“This year has provided us with an opportunity to refine the online portions of our program, including how to serve a virtual internship, to make our program even more flexible. We strive to continuously improve our course offerings and delivery methods to meet the needs of working educators,” Hickman says. Read more about those efforts in the 2020 UW College of Education magazine.
Intelligent.com says it provides unbiased research to help students make informed decisions about higher education programs. The website offers curated guides that include the best degree programs as well as information about financial aid, internships and even study strategies.
