University of Wyoming Operations Associate Vice President John Davis will retire June 11 after a decade of service to the university.
“We express our deepest appreciation to John for his dedication and outstanding leadership at UW,” says Bill Mai, vice president for governmental relations, who continues to oversee UW Operations. “We wish him the very best as he moves to the next phase of his life.”
Davis has held his current position since 2016, when he moved from the post of UW Physical Plant to also directing Facilities Services, Facilities Management, Facilities Utilities, Business Services, Real Estate, Facilities Construction, Facilities Architecture, Facilities Engineering and Jacoby Golf Course. This was part of a reorganization of the operational units under UW’s Division of Administration. He had been named Physical Plant director the year before.
Before that, Davis was deputy director of UW Facilities Management starting in 2012, when he came to UW from the University of South Dakota-Vermillion. The licensed professional mechanical engineer’s career included a variety of other engineering and management positions, ranging from consulting engineer to plant manager.
The search for Davis’ successor will begin immediately.
