Longtime University of Wyoming employee Forrest “Frosty” Selmer has been appointed to serve as interim associate vice president of UW Operations while a search is conducted for a successor to retiring AVP John Davis.
The interim appointment was made by Vice President for Governmental Relations Bill Mai, who continues to oversee UW Operations.
“I’m grateful to Frosty for his willingness to take on this role,” Mai says. “UW Operations is in very capable hands while we move forward with the search.”
Selmer has been UW’s deputy director of utilities management since 2007 and a key member of Davis’ support staff since the inception of UW Operations. Selmer’s service to the university extends back to his graduation from UW in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, when he started work at the UW Physical Plant. He moved to the Facilities Planning office in 1993 before transferring back to the Physical Plant in 2004.
He will assume the interim appointment Friday, when Davis retires after a decade of service to the university.
