Farrell Rapp, director of research services in the University of Wyoming’s Office of Research and Economic Development, has been selected to the Society of Research Administrators International’s (SRAI) inaugural class of “Future of the Field” honorees.
SRAI’s Future of the Field recognition program aims to spotlight those innovating and influencing the research administration profession. Rapp was selected by a committee of research administrator peers, after the program received more than 100 nominations from around the globe. Applications were evaluated based on candidates’ career history, demonstration of exceptional professional growth and significant contributions made to the advancement of research administration.
“The fact that Farrell was selected out of an international pool of candidates speaks to her wealth of knowledge, dedication and professionalism in the complex field of research administration,” says Diana Hulme, associate vice president for research. “We are very fortunate to have someone of Farrell’s caliber here at the University of Wyoming.”
Rapp has worked in the Office of Research and Economic Development since 2009. In her current position, she is primarily responsible for pre-award services that include assisting faculty members with proposal development, review and submission. She also reviews, negotiates and accepts awards on behalf of the institution.
“I have been blessed in my research administration career and have been guided by excellent mentorship,” Rapp says. “This award is truly an honor and a great reflection of the exceptional mentorship and professional development I have received throughout my career at UW.”
Rapp and other Future of the Field honorees will be formally recognized at SRAI’s annual meeting in New Orleans in October.
