The fraternity and sorority community at the University of Wyoming recently received national awards for the 2020-21 academic year.
The UW Collegiate Panhellenic Council (CPH) received the College Panhellenic Excellence Award from the National Panhellenic Conference. UW CPH is among 14 Panhellenic Councils in the nation to receive the award. College Panhellenic Excellence Awards are given to collegiate associations that demonstrate outstanding contributions to academic innovation, community impact, judicial procedure, leadership, marketing, programming and recruitment.
UW fraternity and sorority chapters also received awards from individual respective national organizations.
UW’s Theta Eta chapter of Delta Delta Delta sorority received two awards from its executive office. The chapter received first place in the Highest Fundraising Total category in Region 10, raising $18,915. Based on chapter size, the chapter also received second place for highest fundraising total in the Silver Tier.
UW’s Delta Gamma chapter of Kappa Sigma fraternity was recognized by its national headquarters to be among the top five chapters in the nation for fundraising efforts to support the Stephen Alonzo Jackson Weekend of Giving. The chapter raised $17,797.
UW’s Epsilon Delta chapter of Sigma Nu fraternity received the Increase in Manpower Award from its headquarters after increasing its chapter size by 48 percent.
UW’s Alpha Epsilon chapter of Sigma Alpha sorority received two awards from its executive office. The chapter received first place in Region 2 for Outstanding Fellowship Program, an award for developing relationships with members in the chapter. The chapter also received second place in Region 2 for Outstanding Scholarship Program.
UW’s fraternity and sorority community has a membership of more than 500 students in 15 organizations. As a community, members strive to grow and develop as individuals; build connections with others; give back to causes and partners; and lead with integrity.
