The University of Wyoming Student Success and Graduation Hub has found a new home on the UW campus.
Known by some students on campus as the “U-Dub Hub,” the office now has a permanent and defined physical location -- the Alumni House, located at 214 S. 14th St. -- where students and families can find access to campus resources.
The public is invited to attend the grand opening event, which takes place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, and features music, keynote speakers, activities and raffle prizes. Free parking will be available in the lot east of the facility.
The revamped space will facilitate in-person connections for students seeking resources, and features meeting rooms and social areas where students can meet with peer mentors, known as Cowboy Coaches. The space also affords current students a comfortable setting to find information about important topics such as tutoring, financial aid, mental health and wellness.
The Student Success and Graduation Hub was created in 2020 to provide a robust support system in which students and families can become actively engaged to find solutions to navigate academic and personal struggles from adjusting to college.
“We are looking forward to connecting with our local community, campus partners and alumni,” UW Associate Vice President and Dean of Student Success and Graduation Nycole Courtney says. “This space has been designed by and for UW students. We want to ensure all students feel welcome here, and our No. 1 goal is for students who come to the university to experience success in all facets of the educational experience.”
The hub has substantial support, thanks to a partnership with UniWyo Federal Credit Union, which will, among other things, provide ongoing financial literacy sessions for students.
