The University of Wyoming Percussion Ensemble will present its spring concert, “Everything but the Kitchen Sink,” Friday, April 15.
The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. The event is free and open to the public.
As the opening concert for the UW Percussion Festival, “Everything but the Kitchen Sink” will explore percussion music from around the world and percussion instruments found in everyday life.
Featured guest artists will be Carl Dixon, a percussion lecturer at the University of Colorado-Boulder and director of the Boulder Samba School; Andrew Spencer, a percussion professor at Central Michigan University; and the Natrona County High School Percussion Ensemble. The concert also will feature the premiere of the UW Samba Bateria.
