University of Wyoming Transportation Services will implement significant changes to campus parking starting this fall.
A new parking permit allocation strategy -- based on supply and demand -- was recommended as part of the 2018 master transportation and parking plan. The new allocation strategy will help UW move from a “one-size fits all” approach to a system that provides permit holders with an expectation that they will be able to find a parking space in the area purchased.
“The changes will hopefully allow for less traffic and congestion, and an easier commute for individuals in those parking areas,” says Paul Kunkel, director of UW Transportation Services.
The upcoming changes will include a new permit fee structure based on projected demand for different areas of campus. To learn more about the new permit fees/classifications as well as to view an updated parking map and a parking FAQ, visit the parking website.
Current permit holders soon will receive communication via email with additional information about the new parking plan and key dates to remember.
To answer questions UW community members might have, UW Transportation Services will offer parking question-and-answer sessions.
