Laramie-based Stay Awhile will bring its high-intensity sound to the University of Wyoming’s Summer Concert Series from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, on Simpson Plaza.
The Summer Concert Series -- free and open to the public -- features a different band highlighting a wide genre of music. Lunch will be available to purchase for $9. UW’s 7220 Entertainment sponsors the concerts this summer.
Founded in 2019, Stay Awhile is the Mountain West’s only Diablo II-core punk band. It’s inspired by the guitar riffs of Midwest emo, a rock music genre characterized by an emphasis on emotional expression, and the energy of punk music. Members of the band are Madison Marquer, vocals/drums; Jason Sanderlin, vocals/bass; and Austin Scott, vocals/guitar.
The trio recorded its first EP, “and Listen,” with Bart McCrorey at The Crash Pad Studio in Denver, Colo. For more information about Stay Awhile, visit the band’s Facebook page.
