University of Wyoming President Ed Seidel and his partner, Gabrielle Allen, will host a Community Holiday Open House Monday, Dec. 5, at the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center for all UW employees and students, their families and members of the Laramie community.
The event will run from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available in the lot north of the Gateway Center.
There will be a traditional Santa Claus at the fireplace, where people can take photos. Pistol Pete also will be available for photos from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
There also will be a holiday cookie bar, where guests can build their own cookies and enjoy them with a cup of hot chocolate from the hot chocolate bar, as well as many other holiday treats and activities such as face painting.
Throughout the event, UW’s Shetland pony mascot, Cowboy Joe, will be outside the Gateway Center to greet visitors. And several UW music ensembles will perform as well.
Inside and outside, the Gateway Center will be replete with holiday decorations, including the UW Christmas tree.
