UW’s Wyoming APEX Accelerator Part of Aerospace and Defense Industry Conference May 3-5

Wyoming APEX Accelerator will be part of the third annual Aerospace and Defense Industry Conference that will take place in Casper Wednesday-Friday, May 3-5, at the M Building, located at 234 E. First St.

This three-day conference will guide businesses through the opportunities; the types of manufacturing that the government is looking for; and the certifications needed to gain government contracts. It also provides the ability for Wyoming businesses to connect with companies that need their help to maintain the supply chain. To register, go here. For a conference schedule, go here.

Wyoming APEX Accelerator, part of the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network housed at the University of Wyoming, is the state’s expert in government contracting assistance. Over the years, Wyoming APEX Accelerator has helped Wyoming small businesses secure hundreds of millions of dollars in federal, state and local government contracts.

Innovation Day, which will take place May 3, is hosted by Manufacturing Works, Wyoming APEX Accelerator and the U.S. Small Business Administration. This additional conference day is meant to provide Wyoming small businesses with the actionable resources they need to get into government contracting; network with businesses that need their help; and sustainably grow their bottom line for years to come.

“Wyoming APEX Accelerator will be presenting on government contracting to arm attendees with the knowledge they need to network with federal agencies and federal government prime contractors,” says Janean Forsyth, Wyoming APEX Accelerator program manager.

The conference provides an opportunity for Wyoming manufacturers and technology companies to be introduced to the aerospace and defense market through direct interaction with “prime” aerospace and defense companies with operations in Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Utah. The conference is a partnership among Advance Casper, U.S. Sen. Cynthia Lummis, U.S. Sen. John Barrasso and U.S. Rep. Harriet Hageman.

Wyoming APEX Accelerator, along with over 95 other government contracting assistance centers nationwide, is now under the management of the Department of Defense’s Office of Small Business Programs. In addition to federal funding, Wyoming APEX Accelerator also is supported by the Wyoming Business Council; is a program within the Wyoming SBDC Network; and a component of UW’s Business Resource Network.
