With work nearing completion on the University of Wyoming’s new parking garage and the Brown Zone 101 parking lot, waitlists to purchase parking permits for these areas will open Wednesday, April 19, at 7:30 a.m.
Faculty and staff members wishing to park in the Ivinson Parking Garage or the Brown Zone 101 parking lot, located at the corner of 12th and Bradley streets, can sign up for a waitlist to purchase a summer permit or switch their current permit to a new lot. Parking permits will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. To register for a waitlist, go to www.uwyo.edu/tps.
Current permit holders paid through the summer -- excluding Brown Zone 106 permit holders -- do not need to do anything if their current lot selection is satisfactory. Due to the impending closure of the Wyoming Union parking lot (Brown Zone 106), current permit holders for this zone will either need to sign up for a waitlist in a different lot or request a refund from the UW Transportation Services office.
The cost of a “Gold” permit to park in the Ivinson Parking Garage is $32.50/month for the summer. The cost of a Brown Zone 101 permit is $22/month for the summer. The cost of parking permits is prorated.
Holders of Gold permits also will be able to park in any Brown, Orange, Red or Purple zone for the summer. Beginning in the fall, two different Gold permits will be available. The Gold permit will be available at a lower cost for individuals wishing to only park in the Ivinson Parking Garage. The Gold+ permit will allow individuals to park in the Ivinson Parking Garage as well as in any Brown, Orange, Red or Purple zone.
The Wyoming Union parking lot will close permanently Friday, May 26, for construction of the new residence halls. Bus shelters will remain open to UWYO Roundup bus traffic for the summer.
For more information about summer parking permits and planned parking changes this fall, visit the UW Transportation Services website at www.uwyo.edu/tps; call the office at 766-9800; or email tps@uwyo.edu.
