Nominations Open for Wyoming Business Hall of Fame

Wyoming Business Hall of Fame Award nominations are now being accepted for an outstanding leader in Wyoming’s business community who has demonstrated excellence in business. Nominations are due Tuesday, Aug. 15.

The Wyoming Business Hall of Fame Award is a joint venture among the Daniels Fund, the University of Wyoming College of Business, the Wyoming Business Council and the Wyoming Business Alliance/Wyoming Heritage Foundation.

The award’s recipient will be recognized at the Governor’s Business Forum -- Wyoming’s premier business event -- Nov. 13-15 at UW. To nominate an individual for the award, download the nomination form at www.wyomingbusinessalliance.com, and email the completed form to micheleh@wyoba.com. For questions or for information, email Kent Noble, UW Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Faculty Fellow, at knoble@uwyo.edu.

To be considered as a Hall of Fame inductee, an individual’s business achievement should reflect the same qualities demonstrated by Bill Daniels, a cable-television pioneer who began his business career in Wyoming. Those qualities include business excellence; entrepreneurial spirit; courageous thinking and action; inspiring leadership; community impact; enduring accomplishments; and an unwavering commitment to ethical leadership principles. Recipients can be honored posthumously.

The two categories for awards are:

-- Contemporary/visionary: For an up-and-coming emerging businessperson or entrepreneur who has a vision for Wyoming’s future.

-- Legacy: Someone who has made historic and significant long-term contributions to the business community.

Nominees of the award can either be born in Wyoming or out of state, have attended UW or have business interests within the state. Consideration will be given to nominees who fulfill one or more of the requirements. Additionally, nominees may have started and built businesses or have led established businesses to significantly greater achievements.

A group of individuals who will evaluate the nominee’s business career, achievement record and ethical conduct will lead the selection process.
