UW and Wyoming APEX Accelerator to Host ‘Lunch and Learn’ Workshop Aug. 22

Small-business owners who are either women or veterans will have an opportunity to learn about specific certifications for their particular businesses.

Janean Forsyth and Deb Farris will discuss the subject during a Wyoming APEX Accelerator “Lunch and Learn” workshop titled “Woman-Owned and Veteran-Owned Small Business Certifications” Tuesday, Aug. 22, from noon-1 p.m. To register, go here. Registration is free.

Wyoming APEX Accelerator, part of the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network housed at the University of Wyoming, is the state’s expert in government contracting assistance.

In the latest workshop, attendees will learn about the Woman-Owned Small Business and Economic Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business certifications. While they are two different certifications, most women qualify for both at the same time. Additionally, the workshop will cover the Veteran-Owned Small Business and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business certifications.

Forsyth is the Wyoming APEX Accelerator program manager, and Farris is deputy district director for the Wyoming Small Business Administration (SBA).
