Ali Nejadmalayeri, a University of Wyoming finance professor, is a recipient of the Options Institute MSCI Inflation Research Grant. Sponsored by MSCI, the grant is awarded by Cboe Global Markets Inc., a leading derivatives and securities exchange network.
The Options Institute Research Grant Program is focused on advancing understanding of inflation and its measurable impact on the markets. Nejadmalayeri, along with William Campbell, a lecturer in finance at the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University, will explore how inflation affects the term structure of returns and volatilities in stocks and options. The research aims to establish inflation-related patterns in the cross-section of firms’ equity values.
As the first class of research grant recipients, the collaboration between Nejadmalayeri and Campbell represents a significant step toward understanding financial products, market data and trading strategies. Their research also will seek to motivate tradable strategies based on inflationary expectations.
“The Options Institute Research Grant is a recognition of academic excellence and innovation in financial research,” says Scott Beaulier, dean of the UW College of Business. “We are proud of Ali’s achievement and look forward to the contributions this research will make to the field of finance.”
Awarding of the grant by Cboe validates the UW College of Business’ dedication to fostering cutting-edge research and advancing the financial field through innovative studies.
