The Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network podcast recently featured two small-business owners -- one from New Jersey and one from Sheridan. The podcast features small-business success stories, educational topics from experts and interviews with staff and leadership. Episodes are typically released twice per month.
The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
In an episode launched Aug. 14, the podcast featured consultant and educator Alex Gunter. Gunter is the founder of his consulting company, Unicorncat Consulting LLC, in Florence, N.J., and is a self-described “digital transformation maverick.” Gunter discussed consumer-available generative artificial intelligence tools, including ChatGPT, and how small-business owners can use these tools to improve their operations. Gunter also gave listeners more information on the training webinars he held in collaboration with the Wyoming Community Navigator Program about how to use ChatGPT for small businesses.
On Aug. 24, Shawn Day, founder and president of Wyoming’s newest record label, Big Horn Records, of Sheridan, joined the podcast. Listen to Day’s episode as the conversation explores how Big Horn Records came to be. Additionally, find out more about Day’s history in the music industry and how his extensive community leadership in Sheridan factors into the development and success of his growing record label.
“Big Horn Records will take Wyoming’s burgeoning music scene to the rest of the world, in the process establishing itself as one of the most innovative and eclectic music companies in America today,” Day says. “Our collective aim is to support and promote emerging and established artists across the state of Wyoming.”
