Small-business owners can learn about Project Spectrum, a comprehensive cybersecurity resource that provides state-of-the-art cybersecurity tools and training aimed at improving the overall cybersecurity hygiene of the defense industrial base, Tuesday, Oct. 24.
Kareem Sykes will discuss the subject during a Wyoming APEX Accelerator webinar titled “Cyber Security for Government Contractors With Project Spectrum and Region 9 APEX Accelerators” from 10-11 a.m. To register for the webinar, go here. Registration is free. Montana APEX Accelerator co-sponsors the webinar.
Wyoming APEX Accelerator, part of the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network housed at the University of Wyoming, is the state’s expert in government contracting assistance.
In this webinar, small-business owners will learn about the current cyberthreat landscape; why small businesses are lucrative targets; government guidance, mandates and requirements; Project Spectrum’s cybersecurity advisory services, training courses and proprietary cybersecurity tool development; and an examination of what happens when small businesses engage with Project Spectrum.
In addition to managing Project Spectrum, Sykes serves as founder, managing partner and director of program management and operations for FTS Consulting, an engineering and technical services firm headquartered in Bowie, Md. As a minority-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned small business, FTS consists of partners with decades of experience specializing in fire protection, fire alarm design, engineering, construction management, HVAC and security design services. Its clients include Exelon, Proctor & Gamble, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and Siemens.
