Three finalists for the position of dean of the College of Law at the University of Wyoming have been identified.
The candidates are André Cummings, Julie Hill and Hamid Khan. Starting this week, each candidate will be on campus for two full days of engagement.
Khan will begin his visit Thursday, Nov. 30, and end it Friday afternoon. Cummings and Hill will be on campus the week of Dec. 4. These visits will include public presentations in which the campus community can participate in-person or virtually.
Khan is a judicial education attorney at the Federal Judicial Center, the U.S. Judiciary’s research and education agency; a lecturer at the University of Michigan Law School; a consultant with the American Bar Association’s Rule of Law Initiative; and a National Security Fellow with the Truman National Security Project.
Cummings is the associate dean for faculty development and the Charles C. Baum Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s William H. Bowen School of Law. He also is co-director of Bowen Law’s Center for Racial Justice and Criminal Justice Reform.
Hill is the vice dean and Alton C. and Cecile Cunningham Craig Professor of Law at the University of Alabama. She oversees academic affairs, admissions, clinical programs, continuing legal education, faculty research, graduate law programs, interdisciplinary studies, international student programs, legal writing, public interest programs and student affairs.
The finalists’ public presentations will take place in Room 123 of the College of Business Building and will be available via WyoCast -- those links will be provided later. Following each presentation, there will be 30 minutes for questions, followed by a public meet-and-greet session.
