Side hustles, also known as side jobs or side gigs, are booming to help supplement one’s income. Advice and assistance are available to get started in turning these passion areas into something successful Tuesday, Dec. 5.
P.J. Burns will discuss the basics of starting a “side hustle” business during a Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network workshop titled “How to Launch a Successful Side Hustle” from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Campbell County Public Library, located at 2101 S. 4-J Road in Gillette. To register, go here. Registration is free.
The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Burns will review how to get your side hustle started; ways to test your idea; and how to track income and expenses to see whether your idea can be profitable. Paula Kelting, reference services manager at the Campbell County Public Library, will touch on free resources the library has available to aid you on your journey.
Burns is the Wyoming SBDC Network’s regional director for Campbell, Crook, Johnson, Sheridan and Weston counties. She has spent the majority of her career advising and advocating for small businesses in her roles at chambers of commerce and economic development organizations. She has a background in marketing, human resources, strategic planning, leadership and management.
