UW’s EORI Releases Data Requirements for 3D Reservoir Modeling

The University of Wyoming’s Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute (EORI) has released a new publication regarding three-dimensional modeling of petroleum reservoirs.

“Data Requirements for Dynamic Reservoir Simulation Modeling” can be downloaded here.

Reservoir modeling is useful for petroleum reservoir production forecasting and for developing a methodology to optimize recovery. The new publication notes that reservoir modeling requires a commitment to assimilating accurate information in the proper format and outlines the requirements, descriptions and importance of key data.

“A successful reservoir model requires the right kinds of data as well as accurate data,” the authors say.

EORI’s mission and focus are to facilitate meaningful, measurable and economically viable solutions to increase recoverable reserves and production of oil and natural gas in Wyoming that otherwise may not be realized.
