Acting Dean Appointed for UW College of Health Sciences

A 20-year member of the faculty of the University of Wyoming’s College of Health Sciences currently serving as senior associate dean has been appointed as acting dean of the college, effective immediately.

Michelle Hilaire succeeds Jacob Warren, who will continue to serve on the faculty in the Division of Kinesiology and Health.

“We appreciate Dr. Warren’s service to the university and the college. He was deeply committed to fulfilling the statewide mission of the college,” Provost and Executive Vice President Kevin Carman says. “We’re grateful Dr. Hilaire has agreed to fill the role of acting dean while we discuss next steps, which will include a call for nominations and expressions of interest from senior faculty in the college to serve as interim dean while a national search is being conducted.”

It is anticipated that the national search will launch at the beginning of the fall 2024 semester.

Hilaire holds a faculty appointment as clinical professor in the School of Pharmacy, which she joined as a faculty member in 2004. She received a Doctor of Pharmacy from Duquesne University in 2002. Before becoming senior associate dean of the College of Health Sciences, she served as chair of pharmacy practice and associate dean of academic affairs in the School of Pharmacy, followed by associate dean of student affairs in the College of Health Sciences.
