To support its mission of providing University of Wyoming faculty, staff and students with an informal resource to share dilemmas, ideas and concerns in a confidential, impartial setting, the Office of the Ombuds, led by Nellie Haddad, has transitioned to the Office of the President, effective Jan. 1.
“The formation and ongoing support of the Office of the Ombuds signals UW’s commitment to providing a supportive community where all can thrive,” President Ed Seidel says. “I hope that all in the UW community will access the services of the ombuds when they need support navigating challenges.”
Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to access the services of the Office of the Ombuds, which include facilitation and mediation; conflict management tools and resources; and help in understanding university policies and procedures. The office serves both as a sounding board and an accountability resource, seeking to enhance fairness in all aspects of the university community.
The Office of the Ombuds will host an open house for the UW community Wednesday, Jan. 31, from 3-5 p.m. in Room 241 of Knight Hall. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
