The University of Wyoming College of Business will welcome Jeffrey Korzenik for a public talk Wednesday, April 10, from 3:10-4:15 p.m. in the college’s Scarlett Auditorium.

Korzenik will speak in a fireside chat with College of Business Dean Scott Beaulier. The talk, part of the College of Business Speaker Series, is free and open to the public. The event also will be livestreamed.

Korzenik is chief economist for Fifth Third Bank, one of the nation’s largest commercial banks. He inspires business, nonprofit and government leaders to consider “second chance hiring,” showing how people with criminal records, recovered addicts and the long-term unemployed can be not just adequate, but actually superior employees.

He is the author of “Untapped Talent: How Second Chance Hiring Works for Your Business and the Community.” The book will be available for sale at the University Store and at a reception immediately following the event in the Business Building atrium.

“We are honored to host Jeffrey Korzenik as part of this year’s College of Business Speaker Series,” Beaulier says. “Korzenik’s insights from managing thousands of employees, working with thousands of business owners and experiences with second chance hiring will make for a fascinating conversation.”

Korzenik is the final speaker in this year’s College of Business Speaker Series, which is made possible thanks to a generous gift from the Dimitrios Smyrnios family. The full list of speakers in the 2023-24 series, and the livestream link for this event, can be found online here.
