PokeBot V6.02 Scheduled April 23 at UW

Members of the University of Wyoming community and the public are invited to attend PokeBot V6.02 Tuesday, April 23.

The free technology event will take place from 6-9 p.m. in the UW Innovation Network’s (UWIN) Make-IT makerspace, located in the Information Technology Center atrium.

“Prepare to witness Pokes doing the unexpected with technology, showcasing their unique blend of creativity and innovation,” says Jane Crayton, UWIN makerspace coordinator. “Be a part of the innovation economy, and embrace the spirit of exploration and collaboration.”

The evening will feature presentations, live music by DJ OsVinci and networking.

Presenters and their topics are:

-- Zhaojie Zhang, director of UW’s Integrated Microscopy Core, 3D printing for microscopic applications in biology.

-- Kimberly Quincy, a graduate student in speech and language pathology from Willow, Alaska, 3D printed larynx -- hands-on learning for voice disorder class.

-- Nathan Harris, a mechanical engineering major from Centennial, Colo., makerspace technology usage for Formula SAE car construction.

-- Jacob Hepler, an electrical engineering major from Loveland, Colo., plant monitoring system Internet of Things with Arduino.

-- Olivia Buss, a social studies education major from Laramie, reworking old projects with new mediums.
