UW Project ECHO Celebrates 10 Years of Providing Training

The University of Wyoming’s Project ECHO, a program of the Wyoming Institute for Disabilities (WIND), will launch its fall training sessions in September, marking 10 years the entity has provided training that supports Wyoming professionals on best practices in improving outcomes in health and education.

Project ECHO participants meet for 75-minute sessions via Zoom, with each session consisting of a 30-minute professional development presentation, followed by a unique case presentation. Using an “all teach, all learn” collaborative model, case presenters receive input and guidance from a multidisciplinary team of professionals, as well as other session participants.

To meet the needs of Wyoming educators, health care providers and families, many of the UW Project ECHO programs this fall will focus on addressing mental health, trauma responsiveness, suicide prevention and best practices for behavior supports in educational settings.

Fall 2024 ECHO programs include: Act Early (early intervention), Assistive Technology, Autism and Positive Behavior Supports, Autism for Rural Healthcare Providers, Early Childhood, Integrative Care, Families, Student Health and Geriatrics.

UW Project ECHO is one of many programs WIND offers to assist individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, professionals and UW students through education, training, community services and early intervention.
