The University of Wyoming Department of Music will present the UW Civic Chorus and Community Band concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall.
Tickets are $12 for the public, $9 for senior citizens and $6 for students. A nominal processing fee will be charged for each ticket. To purchase tickets, visit the Performing Arts box office, call (307) 766-6666 or go online at www.tix.com/ticket-sales/uwyo/6984.
The UW Civic Chorus, conducted by O’Neil Jones with Emily Peterson, graduate conductor; Francine Cancian, piano; and Kai Wolz, percussion, will perform the premiere of “Cantate Domino” by Jonathan White; “In the Beginning” by Nancy Hill Cobb; “Sweet Day” by Ralph Vaughan Williams; and “Hold Fast to Dreams” by Susan LaBarr.
The Community Band, conducted by Robert Belser, will perform “Flourish for Wind Band” by Williams; “Music for a Darkened Theatre” by Danny Elfman; “Waltz No. 2” from Suite for Variety Orchestra by Dmitri Shostakovich; “Bravura” by Charles Duble; “The Girl with the Flaxen Hair” by Claude Debussy; and “Variations on a Korean Folk Song” by John Barnes Chance.
