UW to Host Wellness and Destress Events for Students

As the semester ends, several free wellness and destress events are planned for University of Wyoming students.

The events take place from Monday, Dec. 2, through Monday, Dec. 9, and are designed to help students manage end-of-semester stress. The events are sponsored by UW Libraries, Campus Recreation, the Wellness Center, LeaRN, the Writing Center and the Associated Students of UW.

On the main floor of Coe Library, there will be coloring; brain break games; pixel puzzles; guess the number of items; a craft table; wellness tips handouts; bingo cards; Legos; and a finals week planner every day from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Coloring and brain break games are available anytime Coe Library is open.

The UW Wellness Center will host a Zen Den relaxation lounge in Room 107 of Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center, featuring a wellness pod, recovery chair and massage chairs. In addition to these daily activities, UW Libraries will host different wellness and destress events daily. Unless noted otherwise, these events will take place on the main floor of Coe Library next to the Coe Student Innovation Center.

The schedule of events is:

Monday, Dec. 2 

-- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Foot massage pods.

-- 10 a.m.-until supplies run out: Card making.

-- 10 a.m.-noon: Hot chocolate to go.

-- 2-4 p.m.: Make your own self-care kit.

-- 3 p.m.: Beverage break.

Tuesday, Dec. 3 

-- 9 a.m.: Grab-and-go breakfast.

-- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Foot massage pods.

-- 10 a.m.-until supplies run out: Coaster decorating kits.

-- 11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Cornhole tournament.

-- 11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Glow in the dark painting with Sphero Robots, Room 233 of Coe Library.

-- 3 p.m.: Beverage break.

-- 6-7:30 p.m.: Therapeutic journaling, Room 121 of Coe Library.

Wednesday, Dec. 4 

-- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Foot massage pods.

-- 10 a.m.-until supplies run out: Crochet kits.

-- 1:30-3 p.m.: Smoothie bike.

-- 2-4 p.m.: VR vacation.

-- 3 p.m.: Beverage break.

Thursday, Dec. 5 

-- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Foot massage pods.

-- 10 a.m.-until supplies run out: Plant pot decorating kits.

-- 12:30-2 p.m.: Grab and go journals.

-- 1-3 p.m.: Throwback theater: Unwind with childhood classics, Room 123 of Coe Library.

-- 2-4 p.m.: Decorate your own sleep mask.

-- 3 p.m.: Beverage break.

-- 5-5:45 p.m.: Puppy playdate, Room 218 of Coe Library.

Friday, Dec. 6 

-- 9 a.m.-noon.: Smoothie bike, Room 107 of Half Acre.

-- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Foot massage pods.

-- 10 a.m.-until supplies run out: Zentangle grab and go kits.

-- 11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Guided zentangle.

-- 1-4 p.m.: Canva games.

-- 3 p.m.: Beverage break.

Sunday, Dec. 8 

-- 1:30-8:30 p.m.: Step Finals-Stravaganza, Coe level 1.

Monday, Dec. 9 

-- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Foot massage pods.

-- 10 a.m.-until supplies run out: Origami kits.

-- 10-11:30 a.m.: Smoothie bike.

-- 3 p.m.: Beverage break.

-- 4-9 p.m.: Step Finals-Stravaganza, Coe level 1.
