Rocky Case, center director for Manufacturing Works and a leader in Wyoming’s manufacturing sector, has been appointed to the Foundation for Manufacturing Excellence’s Board of Directors. This appointment marks a milestone, amplifying Wyoming’s influence in shaping advanced manufacturing on a national level.
“Through Manufacturing Works’ growth and improvement, for the first time ever, we’ve earned a seat at the national table,” Case says. “Being chosen for this board will bolster the current growth of advanced manufacturing across the state of Wyoming.”
Manufacturing Works is a partnership among the University of Wyoming, the Wyoming Business Council and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Manufacturing Works is part of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) National Network, which has centers in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. MEP is administered by NIST, which is part of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The Foundation for Manufacturing Excellence is the educational foundation for NIST-MEP centers. Its primary goal and focus are to provide and facilitate knowledge sharing and training to the nationwide system of manufacturing extension center members, supporting and educating manufacturing centers across the U.S. Case’s election ensures Wyoming’s voice will be heard in pivotal discussions that impact the future of U.S. manufacturing.
“The foundation is excited to welcome Rocky to our Board of Directors,” says Carrie Hines, the foundation’s executive director. “Rocky’s depth of knowledge and passion for the small manufacturing community, especially in the rural state of Wyoming, will significantly help us, on a national level, better understand how to more effectively serve clients all across the country.”
