Makerspace Hosts Valentine’s Day Program for UW Students

“Valentine's Day Makerspace Magic” is the theme of the monthly Makerspace Celebrate and Create program from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, in the University of Wyoming Innovation Network (UWIN) Make-IT Lab, located in the Information Technology Center.

The event is open to UW students, and registration is required. Seating is limited to 19 participants; snacks will be provided.

Templates and designs -- to help jumpstart individual projects -- will be provided, with Makerspace team members available to help with ideas. Participants will make custom LED copper-tape circuit cards that light up with individualized messages, love-themed stickers and other personalized Valentine’s door hangers and creations.

Projects are subject to change, depending on material availability, and each workshop will offer at least three activities for students to choose.

“Spread the love this Valentine’s Day with creative, hands-on crafting,” Jane Crayton, Makerspace coordinator, says. “Whether you are designing for someone special or just for fun, this workshop will spark your creativity.”
