UW and Wyoming SBDC Network to Host Webinar on Cybersecurity Threats From the FBI Feb. 20

Small-business owners will have an opportunity to learn about cybersecurity threats identified by the FBI Thursday, Feb. 20.

Special Agent Amanda Fritz, from the Cheyenne field office of the FBI, will lead a Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network webinar titled “Cybersecurity Threats From the FBI” from noon-12:30 p.m. To register, go here. Registration is free. The webinar is co-sponsored by the Wyoming SBDC Network Cybersecurity Program.

The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

During the webinar, Fritz will provide an overview of current cybersecurity threats; best practices for small businesses to protect themselves from hackers and scammers; and steps small-business owners should take if they’ve been attacked, including when and how to engage law enforcement.

For more information, call Tyler Schanck, marketing, communications and database manager for the Wyoming SBDC Network, at (307) 343-0925 or email tschanck@uwyo.edu.
