Trio Pantoum will perform at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, as part of the University of Wyoming Department of Music’s “The Future of Classical Music” 2024-25 Eminent Artists Series.

The free public performance will be in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts recital hall and will feature the Wyoming premiere of “Rapsodia” by Italian composer Giancarlo Aquilanti. The piece was written for double wind quintet and string trio, with other works by Anton Arensky and Maurice Ravel featured.

Founded in 2016 at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, the award-winning Trio Pantoum -- featuring violinist Hugo Meder, pianist Kojiron Okada and cellist Bogeun Park -- has established itself in Europe and around the world as among today’s leading young chamber ensembles.

Acclaimed in major concert halls on three continents, the trio has collaborated with many notable artists, such as Miguel da Silva, Aleksandra Dzenisenia, Pierre Fouchenneret, Ann Lepage, Paul Zientara and the Nerida Quartet.

Trio Pantoum is Ensemble ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) Resident at ProQuartet-Centre Européen de Musique de Chambre; the La Fondation Singer-Polignac; and the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Belgium, as well as a Laureate of the Fondation d'entreprise Banque Populaire.

Joining the trio will be the University of Northern Colorado Chamber Winds, guest conducted by Matthew Schlomer, UW’s director of bands.
