The University of Wyoming is a member of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium (ESC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization dedicated to building strong university-community partnerships anchored in the rigor of scholarship.
As part of a member institution, current UW students, staff, faculty and leaders have access to a variety of ESC resources and opportunities for 2025.
ESC supports excellence in engaged scholarship through its annual ESC Awards Program, recognizing higher education institutions and their contributions to engaged scholarship. The awards recognize exemplary programs in seven categories: student, faculty, outreach and engagement professional, community partner, institutional leadership, distinguished dissertation and distinguished engaged scholar. The deadline for nominations is Friday, April 4.
ESC also has opened a call for proposals for its 2025 conference, which will take place Wednesday-Thursday, Oct. 8-9, in Roanoke, Va. The theme for this year’s conference is “Bridging Resources to Build Stronger Communities.” Presentation proposals must be on any topic clearly connected to the advancement of community engagement. The deadline for proposals is Monday, March 31.
As part of the pre-conference program, there will be an Emerging Engagement Scholars Workshop Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 6-7. This program provides advanced doctoral students and early career faculty with opportunities to increase their knowledge and enhance their practice of community-engaged scholarship. Interested participants must apply by Friday, April 11.
For more information about these opportunities, visit https://engagementscholarship.org/ or email the UW Office of Community Engagement at engage@uwyo.edu.
