The University of Wyoming Art Museum will host a public walkthrough of the 50th annual Juried Student Exhibition from 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday, April 29.
Participating student artists will speak about their work, processes and inspirations, and will be available to answer questions. The event is free and open to the public.
A highlight of the UW Art Museum’s annual juried student exhibition is the presentation of artwork from selected UW students. In conjunction with the Art Museum’s larger exhibition, “Sympoiesis: Co-Creating Sense of Place,” this year’s student juried exhibition is organized around work exploring “sense of place.”
The student exhibition is juried each year by an out-of-state art professional. The 37 artworks in this year’s exhibition were selected by Jenene Nagy, a visual artist living and working in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. Nagy’s solo exhibition, “While navigating the distance around the sun,” was exhibited at the UW Art Museum during July 2023.
