A pair of University of Wyoming Department of Music groups will present a free public concert with a Laramie youth group at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts recital hall.
UW’s Happy Jacks and 7220 Blues, along with the Laramie Children’s Chorus, will be performing.
The concert opens with the tenor-bass ensemble the Happy Jacks -- directed by UW Assistant Professor Brian Murray -- performing various works. The featured performer will be Diego Frometa-Batezini, tenor.
The Laramie Children’s Chorus, directed by Beth Kean and Allison Murray, and featuring Michael Lechner, piano, will perform “I Whistle a Happy Tune” from “The King and I” by Rodgers and Hammerstein, and “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” by Randy Newman.
The concert closes with the 7220 Blues -- directed by UW student Brynley LaChance and featuring Bryn Catlin, piano, performing works by Van Heusen, Pentatonix and Ben Bram, Gillespie and Paparelli, Suessdorf and Ellington. Featured performers include Joe Gilbar, Sage Hansen, Elaina Sterling and Keaton Yung.
