    UW to Host Wellness and Destress Events for Students

    As the semester comes to a close, a number of free wellness and destress events are planned for University of Wyoming students.

    UW Libraries, Campus Recreation, the Wellness Center, LeaRN, the Writing Center, the Associated Students of UW (ASUW), the UW Innovation Network (UWIN) and Residence Life will offer opportunities for students to manage end-of-semester stress starting Friday, May 2, through Monday, May 12.

    On the main floor of Coe Library, there will be coloring pages to submit for a coloring contest by May 12 at 5 p.m. Also featured will be Camp Coechella, brain break games, Stick Together Pixel Puzzle, guess the number of stars, craft tables, the wellness wheel and Legos each day.

    The UW Wellness Center will host a Zen Den relaxation lounge featuring a wellness pod, recovery chair and massage chairs in Room 107 of Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center. The activities will be available from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, click here. Campus Recreation also will continue to have guided fitness classes that students can sign up for through the FitDegree app.

    This year, Coechella Wellness and Destress Fest will kick off with a silent DisCoe Preparty Friday, May 2, from 5-7 p.m. on Coe level one. Students need to bring their own headphones. Additionally, every weekday of Coechella, one lucky UW student will win a VIP study room upgrade awarded randomly at the Coe Help Desk. Winners will get dinner for themselves and up to three other classmates from Jimmy John’s.

    In addition to these activities, UW Libraries will host special wellness and destress events. These events will take place on the main floor of Coe Library next to the UWIN Coe Student Innovation Center, unless noted otherwise.

    Friday, May 2:

    -- 5-7 p.m.: Silent DisCoe Preparty on Coe level one; bring your own headphones.

    Monday, May 5:

    -- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Foot massage pods.

    -- 10 a.m.-until supplies run out: Card making craft kits.

    -- 10 a.m.-noon: Lemonade and iced tea to go.

    -- 3 p.m.: Beverage break.

    -- 4-5 p.m.: Self-care bingo in Coe Room 506.

    Tuesday, May 6:

    -- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Foot massage pods.

    -- 10 a.m.-until supplies run out: Bandana craft kits.

    -- 11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Leather craft key chains.

    -- 3 p.m.: Beverage break.

    -- 6-7:30 p.m.: Journaling workshop in Coe Room 121, includes free journal.

    Wednesday, May 7:

    -- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Foot massage pods.

    -- 10 a.m.-until supplies run out: Worry Pets craft kits.

    -- 10-11:30 a.m.: Smoothie bike.

    -- 1-3 p.m.: Mini masterpieces.

    -- 3 p.m.: Beverage break.

    Thursday, May 8:

    -- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Foot massage pods.

    -- 10 a.m.-until supplies run out: Sun catcher craft kits.

    -- Noon-1:30 p.m.: Self-care collaging in the ASUW conference room, Wyoming Union 106.

    -- Noon-5 p.m.: Studio Coe Film Festival in Coe Room 123.

    -- 3 p.m.: Beverage break.

    -- 5-5:45 p.m.: Puppy Playdate in Half Acre Room 115, food provided.

    Friday, May:

    -- 9 a.m.-until supplies run out: Grab-and-go breakfast.

    -- 11 a.m.: Wyoming Union Fest on Prexy’s Pasture.

    Saturday, May 10:

    -- 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Goat yoga on West Fraternity/Sorority Mall, sign-up required through the FitDegree App.

    -- 12:30-2:30 p.m.: Petting zoo on West Fraternity/Sorority Mall.

    Sunday, May 11:

    -- 1:30-9 p.m.: Step Finals-Stravaganza, Students can receive academic support with one-on-one tutoring, group study sessions, and special reviews in math, science, engineering, languages and more.

    Monday, May 12:

    -- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Foot massage pods.

    -- 10-11:30 a.m.: Smoothie bike.

    -- 10 a.m.-until supplies run out: Beaded friendship bracelet craft kits.

    -- 3 p.m.: Beverage break.

    -- 5 p.m.-until supplies run out: Pretzel craft kits.
