The University of Wyoming College of Arts and Sciences recently recognized 13 graduates at its annual awards luncheon.

Each year, top graduates are nominated by faculty members in their respective areas of study. Students are selected based on grade-point average and the strength of the nomination letter. The names of the recipients are placed on a plaque by the A&S auditorium.

“I’m so proud of this incredible group of top graduates,” says Adrienne Freng, interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. “Their hard work and intellectual curiosity truly set them apart. They exemplify the spirit of excellence that defines our college.”

The 2025 top graduates in the College of Arts and Sciences, listed by hometown and major, are:

Buffalo -- Reuben Haas, anthropology and environment and natural resources; and Wolfgang Wuerker, psychology and physiology.

Casper -- Jessica Yang, political science and international studies.

Chappell, Neb. -- Carissa Fostervold, sociology and psychology.

Greeley, Colo. -- Daniel Wozney, communication.

Green River -- Jessica Petri, political science and secondary education (social studies).

Laramie -- Amelia Marlatt, studio art.

Morrison, Colo. -- Aurora Gearhart, anthropology.

Newport News, Va. -- Ashley Laughlin, English and gender studies.

Rawlins -- Crystal Torres, criminal justice.

Sheridan -- Sophia Destefano, secondary education (social studies/history); and Hanna Needles, theater and dance with a concentration in dance science.

Slater -- Jolie Strahan, English and philosophy.

“As these students head into their next chapters, I’m confident they’ll keep making a real difference in their communities and wherever life takes them,” Freng says.
