UW Faculty Members Win Presidential Scholarly Achievement Awards

University of Wyoming President Ed Seidel has recognized faculty members who demonstrate high achievement in scholarship through the 2025 Presidential Scholarly Achievement Awards.

Started by Seidel in 2022, the awards include two tracks: one for tenured faculty members and one for early-career faculty members. Each track includes a monetary award and recognition at the President’s Commencement Dinner Thursday, May 15.

“Inspiring scholarship is what moves UW forward,” Seidel says. “This year’s Scholarly Achievement Awardees are at the forefront of their disciplines, and I am grateful these talented faculty have chosen UW as their institution for growth and discovery.”

The Presidential Scholarly Achievement Awards, for tenured faculty at associate or full professor ranks who have demonstrated significant achievement, focus on different colleges or disciplines each year. This year, the focus is on the College of Law and the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.

The winners of the honors, which include a cash award of $2,500 each, are:

-- Jeffrey French, associate professor, Department of Atmospheric Science.

-- Jacquelyn Bridgeman, Kepler Professor of Law, College of Law.

-- Tara Righetti, professor, College of Law.

-- Gabriel Barrile, assistant professor, Department of Zoology and Physiology and the School of Computing (UW-Casper awardee).

-- Cameron Borgholthaus, assistant professor, Department of Management and Marketing.
