UniWyo Credit Union, the official credit union of the University of Wyoming and Wyoming Athletics, will reopen its University of Wyoming campus branch in McWhinnie Hall Monday, Aug. 4.
The reopening marks a return of convenient, on-campus financial services for the UW community. The branch is available to anyone, not just those affiliated with campus, offering a full range of credit union services just steps away from classrooms and offices.
“We’re beyond excited to bring UniWyo back to campus,” says UniWyo Vice President of Marketing Mindy Uitterdyk. “Reopening our UW branch feels like coming home. We’ve truly missed being just steps away from the energy, innovation and connection that make the University of Wyoming so special.”
The branch was temporarily closed for nearly two years due to construction of the new residence halls. With construction nearly complete, UniWyo is eager to return to the heart of the UW campus.
As a longtime partner of the Laramie community and financial supporter of UW since 1953, UniWyo Credit Union is involved with UW in many facets of student success, including scholarships, financial literacy education and athletics.
“At UniWyo, we’re passionate about putting people first, and that starts with being accessible,” CEO Dave Krause says. “For students who are just starting to build their financial confidence, having a friendly face nearby can make all the difference. We’re here to support the UW community with tools, guidance and heart. Helping our members thrive is what we’re all about.”
In addition to the UW campus branch, UniWyo Credit Union operates full-service branches in six other Wyoming locations: Laramie (Grand Avenue), Cheyenne, Casper, Glenrock, Douglas and Cody.
The UW campus branch in McWhinnie Hall will be open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and is available to anyone with a current UniWyo account or those interested in becoming a member.
