UW and Wyoming SBDC Network to Host Small Business Showcase in Gillette Aug. 19

Small-business owners will have the opportunity to give short pitch presentations about their businesses and raise awareness about their offerings during the Small Business Showcase Tuesday, Aug. 19.

P.J. Burns and small-business owners will head the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network event from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Wyoming Room of the Campbell County Public Library, located at 2101 S. 4-J Road in Gillette. The event is co-sponsored by Wyoming Library to Business and the Campbell County Public Library.

Businesses interested in presenting must register with the Wyoming SBDC Network and email Burns at pj.burns@uwyo.edu by 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11. Presenters will be provided a 30-minute training and a PowerPoint pitch deck template. The event will provide one business presentation per industry. To register, go here. The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

During the Small Business Showcase, local small-business owners will have the opportunity to make pitches; share their business and passion with an audience; and get to know their business neighbors.

Burns is the Wyoming SBDC Network’s regional director for Campbell, Crook, Johnson, Sheridan and Weston counties. She has spent the majority of her career advising and advocating for small businesses in her roles at chambers of commerce and economic development organizations. She has a background in marketing, human resources, strategic planning, leadership and management.
