University of Wyoming Housing and Dining is seeking staff, faculty and student groups to volunteer during Move-In Day for incoming students participating in the Saddle Up program.
Saddle Up Move-In Day is scheduled Friday, Aug. 15, from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Volunteers will help welcome first-year and transfer students as they settle into their new homes in White Hall, McIntyre Hall and the newly constructed North Hall.
“This is an extremely rewarding experience for both our volunteers and our incoming students,” said Thom Gabrukiewicz, marketing and communications specialist with UW Business Enterprises. “It’s a great way to show our Cowboy spirit and help students feel at home from day one.”
Volunteer shifts are available in two-hour increments, with opportunities in the following three areas: cart stations, issue carts to students and families; helpers, who greet families at their vehicles and assist with transporting belongings to residence hall rooms; and floaters, who support volunteers by checking in, delivering water and filling in as needed.
Volunteers may sign up for multiple shifts. To register, click here or call Amber Vigil at (307) 766-3858 or email avigil5@uwyo.edu.
