Small-business owners, entrepreneurs and startups will have an opportunity to learn about what they should know about intellectual property Tuesday, Aug. 12.

Julie Revers will lead a Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network webinar titled “Introduction to Intellectual Property” from 11 a.m.-noon. To register, go here. Registration is free.

The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

During the webinar, attendees will learn about what is intellectual property; receive an overview of patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyright; learn key considerations in identifying what type of intellectual property a business needs; and the importance of establishing intellectual property in a business.

Revers is the regional outreach officer for the Rocky Mountain Regional Outreach Office of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
