Chris Janson will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in UW’s Arts and Sciences Auditorium.

Get ready for a night of high-octane country music Friday, Oct. 3, as country hitmaker Chris Janson takes to the stage at the University of Wyoming.

Presented by Buchanan Center Special Events, this premier concert during UW’s Homecoming Week kicks off with lawn games, live music and more on Prexy’s Pasture, culminating in Janson’s performance at 7:30 p.m. in the Arts and Sciences Auditorium.

“Buchanan Center Special Events is incredibly excited to host a country artist of Chris Janson’s caliber,” says Lexis Hamilton, UW Fine Arts Program manager.

Known for his electrifying live shows, down-to-earth storytelling and chart-topping hits that include “Buy me A Boat,” “Fix A Drink” and “Done,” Janson is an accomplished, award-winning artist, producer and songwriter. He’s a self-taught multi-instrumentalist who has mastered 10 instruments.

Janson burst onto the country music scene in 2015 with his triple-platinum hit “Buy Me a Boat.” Since then, the Grand Ole Opry Member has amassed billions of global streams and gold and multiplatinum awards, penning hits for country heavyweights Tim McGraw (“Truck Yeah”), Cody Johnson (“Build A Fire”) and others along the way, while also solidifying his status as a solo artist.

Janson’s accolades include an ACM Award for Video of the Year for “Drunk Girl” and multiple “Ten Songs I Wish I'd Written” awards from the Nashville Songwriters Association International. “All I Need Is You,” the lead single from his 2023 album “The Outlaw Side of Me,” earned Janson his fifth career No. 1 hit.

Janson’s newest studio album, “Wild Horses,” dropped Aug. 1, preceded by several radio singles, including the title track, the patriotic “This Flag”; the feel-good party anthem “Me & A Beer”; and the heartfelt love song “The Bride.”

“Janson has a reputation for energetic and fun performances, just what we’re looking to give our audiences during Homecoming Week,” Hamilton says. “We hope all Pokes fans and ‘Janson Junkies’ will join us for a night of great music and get ‘Rowdy’ with Chris Janson!”
