University of Wyoming students and community members are invited to Wyoming Blockchain
Stampede Community Gaming Day Friday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Wyoming
Union. The event is free.
Sponsored by the UW Center for Blockchain and Digital Innovation (CBDI), the event
offers participants the opportunity to enjoy free food and play a variety of tabletop
games and eSport challenges in the area of the Pokes Pub and Game Room in the Union’s
lower level.
“We will have board games, a Magic the Gathering draft event and PC gaming,” says
Joey Marchand, CBDI eSports programming coordinator.
With a limited number of PCs available in the Game Room, Marchand encourages attendees
to bring their own with them to play. Attendees also can bring their favorite tabletop
games.
To make sure enough food is available, attendees are asked to pre-register at https://luma.com/c6f7k3rw.
A Super Smash Bros. event will follow from 5-10 p.m., Marchand says.
On Saturday, Sept. 20, the UW eSports club will compete against Casper College teams, which will be streamed live on the Twitch UW eSports channel, he says. The event runs from 3:30-8:30 p.m. and features matches of Rocket League, Overwatch and Valorant.
