Small-business owners, entrepreneurs and startups can learn how to run and protect their artificial intelligence (AI) business data Thursday, Oct. 30.

Paul Johnson and Alec Muthig lead a Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network webinar titled “Using AI Safely: How to Keep Your Business Data Protected” from noon-12:30 p.m. To register, go here.

The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The webinar will cover exactly what information small-business owners can share with AI and data that they shouldn't. Attendees will learn how to set privacy settings on several AI platforms; who does what with their data; and safer workflows for marketing, human resources, inventory and finance functions. The webinar also will present quick policies business teams can follow. This webinar is appropriate for newer AI adopters, those interested in adopting AI, and seasoned AI users who haven’t considered data safety or what to do about it.

Johnson is manager of the Wyoming SBDC Network’s Cybersecurity Program.

Muthig is a UW information technology trainer.
