Small-business owners, entrepreneurs and startups will have the opportunity to learn how to effectively use artificial intelligence (AI) tools Thursday, Oct. 23.

Paul Johnson and Marree Reed will lead a Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network webinar titled “Using AI Tools to Create and Plan Marketing Content” from noon-12:30 p.m. To register, go here. Registration is free.

The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

During the webinar, small-business owners will learn how to draft website copy, product descriptions and one-to-two weeks of social media posts from a simple prompt. The webinar also will show how to use AI to build a one-page basic marketing calendar and demonstrate how to export copy to a simple template for review and editing. Attendees also will

receive a handout with a prompt engineering “recipe card” that will help them effectively structure their AI assistant requests.

Johnson is the cybersecurity program manager for the Wyoming SBDC Network.

Reed is a cybersecurity program assistant in UW’s Cybersecurity Education and Research Center and a part-time employee with Institutional Marketing.
