The Laramie Civic Chorus and Campus Community Band join forces for a collaborative
concert Monday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts
Concert Hall.
Tickets are available at www.tix.com/ticket-sales/uwyo/6984, in person or at (307) 766-6666 at the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts box
office, Monday through Friday, noon-6 p.m. and one hour before performances.
The program features a rich blend of traditional pieces, modern compositions and new
works by living composers.
The Laramie Civic Chorus, under the direction of O’Neil Jones and with Renato da Silva
on piano, will present a thought-provoking program. Highlights include Howard Helvey’s
inspiring “Song of Creation” and Elaine Hagenberg’s reflective “There was a Time.”
The chorus also is honored to present two new compositions -- “Imagined Corners” and
“Alchemy” -- by living composer Reginal Wright. The set concludes with Christopher
Aspaas’s spirited “i thank You God for most this amazing day.”
The Campus Community Band, led by conductor Robert Belser, will perform classic concert
literature, including Julius Fučik’s “The Florentiner March” and Carl Wittrock’s “Lord
Tullamore.” Pop culture fans will enjoy a rendition of John Williams’ iconic “The
Imperial March” (Darth Vader's Theme) from “Star Wars.” The program also will feature
an arrangement of “Greensleeves” by Alfred Reed, alongside vibrant pieces by Clare
Grundman, Robert W. Smith and David Bobrowitz.
