University of Wyoming choirs will present the Happy Jacks, Bel Canto and the Singing
Statesmen in a collaborative concert Saturday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan
Center for the Performing Arts concert hall.

Friday, noon-6 p.m. and one hour before performances.
The evening will open with the Happy Jacks, featuring student soloists Karson Hansen,
Jeffrey Cuevas and Catcher Pannell. The program includes well-loved tunes such as
“Maria” from “West Side Story,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from “The Lion King”
and the energetic “Don’t Stop the Music.”
Following this, the treble choir Bel Canto, under the direction of O’Neil Jones with
Bryn Catlin, of Casper, on piano, will present “Spirit of Life” by Christopher Aspaas
and the evocative “Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda, op. 26, Set III” by Gustav Holst.
The concert will conclude with five pieces by the Singing Statesmen, a tenor-bass ensemble conducted by Brian Murray and accompanied by pianist Luciano Filizola. The program features the lively “Tantsulaul (Dancing Song): from Veljo Tormis’s “Meestelaulud,” the reflective “Abide with Me” by Reginal Wright and the rhythmic “Pete, Pete” by Victor Johnson, featuring vocalists Elijah Damey and Chase Maddox, and Caleb Peeks on percussion. The ensemble will round out the performance with Johnson’s “Think on Me” and Joseph Martin’s “The Quest Unending.”
