People with unpaid parking citations of less than $41 at the University of Wyoming can have their fines reduced by donating nonperishable items for a food drive beginning today (Monday).

UW Transportation Services’ “Food for Fines” program is underway through Friday, Dec. 12. Customers can bring two nonperishable food donations to the Transportation Services office, at 1602 E. Spring Creek Drive, and receive a 30 percent discount on one outstanding fine. Customers with multiple violations may participate in the program up to three times.

All food items received by Transportation Services will be donated to the Pokes Food Share Pantry. Expired or opened donations will not be accepted. Customers are asked to be mindful when selecting donation items. Transportation Services reserves the right to revoke a customer’s participation in the program at any time.

For more details and a list of popular items to donate, visit the UW Transportation Services website at www.uwyo.edu/transportation; call the office at (307) 766-9800; or email tps@uwyo.edu.
