Small-business owners, entrepreneurs and startups will have the opportunity to learn about the different types of intellectual property Friday, Dec. 12.

Mary Fuller, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) regional director, will lead a Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network webinar titled “A Conversation About USPTO” from noon-1 p.m. To register, go here.

The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The webinar will review all types of intellectual property; intellectual property identifiers; search resources; pro se assistance; free and reduced-price legal services; and other resources. There will be dedicated time for a question-and-answer session.

Fuller is the regional director of the USPTO’s Western Regional Outreach Office and interim director for the Rocky Mountain Regional Outreach Office. In both roles, she carries out the strategic direction of John Squires, under secretary of commerce for intellectual property and director of the USPTO. Fuller ensures the USPTO’s initiatives and programs are tailored to each region’s unique ecosystem of industries and stakeholders.
