The University of Wyoming Cowboy Battalion will conduct ceremonial firing of its field
cannon Thursday, Dec. 4, as part of the annual Branch Night celebration. This event
honors the commissioning cadets of the UW Army ROTC program as they receive their
branch assignments in the U.S. Army.
Cannon firing will occur between 5-6 p.m. inside War Memorial Stadium. All shots will
be performed by trained cadets under the supervision of the ROTC cadre, in accordance
with established safety procedures.
Members of the campus community and the surrounding area should be aware that cannon
fire will produce loud reports. These activities are part of a long-standing Army
ROTC tradition celebrating the achievements of future Army officers.
